BAT CAVE SITE...WHERE ARE YOU?
Bat Cave is located at the edge of a planted pine forest, some 4.5 miles northwest of the town of Newberry, Alachua County, Florida. The cave lies at the western edge of Alachua County, two miles West of the main North/South access road US 27/41 between the small towns of Newberry to the South and High Springs to the North. I. From Gainesville Go West on 39th Avenue (=SR222) 3.4 miles till it dead ends into CR 241. Turn right (North) onto CR241 and go 2.7 miles to the junction of CR241 and CR232. Turn Left onto CR232 and go West 6.7 miles to its intersection with US 27/41. Turn left and go South 2.0 miles on US 27/41 to NW 46th Ave. Turn right and go West on NW 46th Ave. 2.0 miles to the Santa Fe sign. Turn right and proceed North to the site gate. II.From High Springs Follow the yellow line Turn Right onto NW 46th Ave. Go West 2 miles to sign. III. From I-75 Alachua/ High Springs Exit Follow the blue line Turn right onto CR232 and go west 3.6 miles till it intersects US 27/41. Turn left and proceed 2.0 miles South to NW 46th Ave. Turn Right onto NW 46th Ave and travel West for 2.0 miles to the sign. |
