EVALUATION

Exams

There will be three exams for GLY 2010.099

The first exam will be  Tuesday,  FEBRUARY 18th  7:00 PM  in X-102. It will cover the first five weeks of tapes and reading assignments and it will be worth 33% of the total course grade. This will be a 100 point examination. You are given the essay questions in advance as a study guide. We will choose a total of ninety points worth (nine of these essay questions) for this test.  You will be asked to choose and answer five questions out of these nine.   The short answer section will consist of fifty points' worth of multiple choice questions (about 25 questions). They will be similar to the sample questions that you find in the internet notes and will generally emphasize the major concepts reviewed in the tapes as well as those in the essay questions.

The second exam will be given on Tuesday,  MARCH 25th, 7:00 PM in X-102.  It will cover the four weeks of tapes and reading assignments from October 9th through October 30th.  The test format will be the same as the one used for the first exam. It will also be worth 33% of the total course grade.

The third and final exam will be worth 34% of your total grade and it is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, APRIL 29th, 8-10 PM, in G-030.   Note that it is at 8:00PM, not at 7:00 PM as are the term exams.  It will also be a 100 point exam. It will consist of  forty multiple choice questions worth 1 point a piece and 6 essay questions.  The multiple choice questions will be restricted to the material covered in the last four weeks of the course from November 13th  through December 11th. As for previous exams, they will be similar to the multiple choice questions associated with the notes on the net.  You will choose sixty points' worth (6 questions)of essay questions from the twelve questions we will give you.   They will be weighted in the following way: You will answer one question out of two that will emphasize concepts and models that apply to the first part (=test 1) of the course.  Similarly, you will choose one question out of two that will deal with the second part (=test two) of the course.  Finally you will choose 4 questions out of 8  and they will cover material that has been covered since the second exam.

Final grades will be based upon these three exams with traditional distributions honored.
